Global Pop Trendsetters: What inspired you to write this new song “Believe The Unseen?”

Olly E: I got into metaphysical practises such as collecting crystals and I wrote the song whilst gazing into a Citrine crystal known for wealth, prosperity, and positive energy which brought out the ‘lifting’ melodies within the track. The lyrics developed into a theme of believing in unseen forces from this moment.

GPT: What is your main goal in your music career?

OE: I want to write music that helps people with their mental health so they can grow through hearing my music and it can lead to a better life.

GPT: What are you most proud of to date?

OE: I’m proud that I’ve come out of my comfort zone and am doing multiple jobs in music such as performing as a solo covers act, running my music production business ODIE Music Productions, and teaching Guitar all of which I would not have attempted a few years ago.

GPT: What is your dream venue to perform at?

OE: The pinnacle of my musical career would be headlining Wembley Stadium which is a dream I’ve had for Olly E right from the start.

GPT: Describe your creative process when you write new music.

OE: I usually begin with a lyrical melody or guitar riff for an intro, verse, or chorus which then grows into the next song section and so on until the track is complete.

GPT: What’s an average day like for you?

OE: I believe in the law of attraction and the principles that come with it so in a day I usually do half an hour reading and learning from YouTube or a podcast plus 10 minutes meditating and visualising. I aim to stick to a schedule throughout the day so I know what and where to delegate my time.

GPT: Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

OE: I wouldn’t say hidden although sometimes the morals in my songs may be a bit buried but I want people to understand what I’m saying so my songs can help them through life.

GPT: What’s your motto or some good advice that you live by?

OE: “Always look after your future self” is a good one!

GPT: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

OE: Good question! The price of streaming could be changed to be more lucrative for smaller artists and record labels could look for talent rather than numbers.

GPT: What’s your favorite childhood movie?

OE: School of Rock. I remember standing up in the cinema when the movie ended knowing that music was what I wanted to do with my life.

GPT: Who would you like to collaborate with?

OE: I do a cover of “Are Friends Electric” by Gary Numan when performing live and I would love to make a recorded version and have him singing on it!
